Bucephalandra 'Violet Blossom' – Collector's Specimen
Elevate your aquascape with Bucephalandra 'Violet Blossom', a rare gem from Borneo. Renowned for its metallic-sheen foliage and deep hues, this variety is a true treasure for any aquarist.
We offer a premium specimen, selected for its vitality: (Photo number 2 of the rhizome for sale)
Conditioning: Robust rhizome with 4 developed leaves.
Dimensions: Total size of approximately 6 cm, ideal for immediate integration into your decor.
Health: Vigorous and perfectly healthy root system, ensuring optimal recovery upon installation in your tank.
Features & Aesthetics
Appearance: Dark and elegant leaves that, under good lighting, offer shades ranging from bluish-green to deep purple. It is a slow-growing plant that maintains its compact shape over time.
Rarity: Like all Bucephalandras, it is a prized epiphytic plant known for its slow growth and great hardiness, perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your aquarium.
Installation & Care Tips
Placement: Never bury the rhizome in the substrate (this could cause it to rot). Simply attach the plant to a stone or root using fishing line or special aquatic plant glue. Its roots will naturally attach to the support over time.
Ideal Conditions: Appreciates moderate light and circulated water. While it can thrive in a "low-tech" aquarium, nutrient supplementation (and possibly CO_2) will enhance the characteristic violet coloration of this variety.
Positioning : Ideal for the foreground or midground, it creates magnificent contrasts among mosses or other larger-leaved plants.
Note: Bucephalandras are slow-growing plants. Once established, they require very little maintenance and will remain a centerpiece of your aquarium for a long time.
