π Dried Liquidambar Fruits (Pack of 5) β Natural care for your aquarium
Offer your precious aquatic inhabitants a decor that is both aesthetic, wild, and incredibly beneficial!
Derived from Liquidambar styraciflua (American sweetgum), these dried fruits, shaped like small honeycombed capsules, are true allies for the balance of your aquarium. They serve as an excellent alternative or an ideal complement to the popular alder cones and catappa leaves.
π Why choose them for your aquarium?
Shrimp and young fry paradise: Thanks to their unique structure dotted with small hiding places, they offer a perfect refuge for microfauna, zoeae (baby shrimp), and fry.
Natural pantry: As they slowly degrade, a thin layer of biofilm (beneficial bacteria and microorganisms) will develop on the fruit. Your shrimp and snails will love spending hours grazing on it!
Benefits for water (Light tannins): They gradually release tannins and humic acids. These substances have slightly natural antifungal and antibacterial properties, while very gently acidifying the water, thus recreating the conditions of tropical biotopes ("blackwater").
Unique "Biotope" aesthetic: Their spiky little ball look adds a textured and ultra-natural touch to your hardscape.
π Usage tips & Dosage
Tip: Before introducing them into your aquarium, we recommend boiling them for about 5 to 10 minutes. This sterilizes them, purges excess tannins, and helps them sink instantly to the bottom of the tank.
Quantity: 1 fruit per 10 to 20 liters of water.
Lifespan: They remain intact and aesthetically pleasing for several months. You can let them disintegrate completely or replace them when they lose their structure.
